Salem Student Organizations Show Holiday Spirit

Posted Dec. 10, 2013

Salem Christmas Parade and Kids’ Open House

Although it was a chilly day, the spectators at Salem’s annual Christmas parade received warm holiday greetings from Kent State students and Flash on Dec.7. The students represented Salem’s Student Government Association, Students for Professional Nursing, the Human Services Technology Club and the Horticulture Club.

After the parade, students and their families attended a Kids’ Holiday Open House at the City Center.  Members of the student organizations led fun activities for the little ones.  Together, they decorated reindeer goodie bags, made macaroni necklaces, sent letters to Santa and enjoyed face painting.  Adding to the festivities were a live reindeer webcam, holiday music and refreshments.

The parade and Kids’ Open House were great opportunities for the students to get to know each other and to celebrate the Christmas season.
